See each other on the page#
When two or more people have a shared page open:
- Who is here. The people button on the toolbar shows who has the page open right now, with a green ring on each.
- Live pointers. Everyone's pointer moves on everyone's screen, with their name on it, in their colour. A pointer lands on the words, not on the pixels, so it points at the same sentence even when your windows are different sizes.
- Typing. When someone is writing in a comment thread, the thread says so, and the message appears for everyone the moment it is sent.
- Follow. Press Follow next to a person and your view scrolls with theirs, which is how you walk someone through a page on a call without a screen share.
Talk about the page, on the page#
- Add Replayink to Chrome. It also runs in Microsoft Edge.
- Open the page, press the backtick key to bring out the toolbar, and press
C. - Click the spot you want to talk about. A numbered pin appears with a box to type in.
- Type
@and pick a teammate, or type an email address. They get that comment and the mark it sits on, and nothing else from the page.
A reply stacks under the pin it belongs to. A reaction answers a message without a reply that only says "ok". Assign a thread to someone and it stays on their list until they resolve it.
Share the whole page, or just a link#
- Share the page with people or with your whole team. Everyone on it sees each other's highlights, notes and comments on that page, with each person's pins and pointer in their own colour.
- Copy a link. Anyone holding it can read the page's notes without an account. Signing in lets them add their own.
- Who sees how much. For each person you choose everything, comments only, or only the comments they are in, and whether they can write or only read. The owner can change that, or remove someone.
Nothing leaves your browser until you choose one of these, and each says what it shares before it does.
Know when something was said to you#
A bell on the toolbar lists mentions, replies, pages shared with you and comments given to you to answer. A mention also reaches the person by email, so someone who is not on the page right now still gets the question, and can answer it from the page the email links to.
Pages behind a login#
Someone who cannot open the page, because it sits behind a login they do not have, can be sent a captured copy of it, with your marks on it. Someone without the extension gets the thread by email and answers from the page it links to.
What stays private#
Highlighting, drawing and notes on your own never leave your computer, and need no account. Team features need a free account: sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email. Only the page you share, and only your marks and comments on it, is uploaded. See the privacy policy.
Who collaborates this way#
- Design and product teams: feedback on a staging site, pinned to the exact element, answered by the person who built it
- Agencies and clients: a client points at the spot on the live site; nobody pastes a screenshot into an email
- Researchers and students: read the same paper together, with questions in the margin
- Support: walk a customer through a page by following their view, instead of asking them to share their screen
